Our Philosophy

A disorganized meeting is an unproductive meeting. The purpose of parliamentary procedure is to provide a method  for societies, associations and organizations to meet productively. Parliamentary procedure is designed to enforce the will of the majority, while protecting the rights of the minority. Parliamentary procedure empowers the members of an organization to make decisions and conduct business.

Our History

Gen. Henry M. Robert published the first edition of Robert's Rules of Order in 1876. He devoted the last decade of his life to writing on parliamentary procedure. He died in 1923. The Prince George's County Unit of NAP was chartered in 2013 to continue the study of Robert's Rules of Order to educate and train local leaders in effective meeting management.
